Should You Rent a Motorbike in Puerto Escondido?

Absolutely you should!

After the whirlwind that was last week’s retreat, I decided to hang out in Puerto Escondido for a few more days and decompress. I picked up these wheels from a guy who knew a guy. The bike is basically held together with duct tape, but it was also close to free. You get what you get and you don’t get upset! It’s been perfect for exploring along the coast.

I’m staying in “Vivo Escondido Hostel”. It’s turned out to be a bit of a party hostel, which is not exactly my vibe. But on the plus side, it has some really sweet hammocks.

Puerto Escondido is a neat little city, with lots of great restaurants, shops, and beaches. And it’s a much more laidback place for riding than, say, Oaxaca City. Just watch out for those speed bumps.

The food here has been particularly impressive. Fish tacos for days! I enjoyed a nice fish taco dinner with some other guests from the retreat.

Tomorrow, I’m onward to Mexico City. Until next time, Oaxaca! You were so much more than I imagined.
